EvoText Names New President, Leading Eduneers in Developing Education Technology Products

Ed tech veteran Michael F. Johnson joins EvoText leadership team

BOSTON – EvoText – a software development company specializing in education technology solutions and the developers of Ogment for curriculum creation and management – announced Michael F. Johnson has joined the company as president, further filling out its executive team of ed tech industry experts. Johanna Wetmore will continue to serve as CEO and Chris Robert will retain his role as COO.

A pioneer in the education technology industry for over 30 years, Mr. Johnson brings a wealth of expertise in working with businesses of all sizes and markets to quickly build and execute focused strategies.

“We are thrilled to have Michael as part of the EvoText team. He brings a depth and breadth of ed tech experience that will take us to the next level and help us meet the challenges of the ever-changing landscape,” said Johanna Wetmore, CEO of EvoText.

“I am both excited and honored to join the EvoText team. I have not seen a collection of this level talent and output in one company for a very long time. Building on what this team has already accomplished is a thrilling challenge,” said Mr. Johnson.

Mr. Johnson comes to EvoText at a strategic time. Named one of top 15 workplaces in the country for innovative and effective practices by The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), EvoText has grown ten-fold since its inception five years ago and now employs almost 50 “eduneers”— educators, engineers, and designers who have been at the forefront of educational technology for the past two decades.

Last year EvoText developed its first go-to-market product, Ogment, a ground-breaking curriculum creation and management solution that has already received two dozen awards, including 2017 CODiE Finalist for Best K-12 Course or Learning Management Solution and 2016 CODiE Winner for Best Cross-Curricular Solution.
