Nov. 1 Event: Bat Experts Talk to Students Virtually Via Nepris

Bringing experts to students for virtual discussions opens their eyes, brings relevance and excitement to lessons

Media Alert and Story Opportunity

AUSTIN, Texas — Not everyone thinks bats are cool, except around Halloween. On November 1, a bat expert from the Bat Squad (Bat Conservation International) will talk with hundreds, possibly thousands, of students virtually on November 1 and dispel the icky myths around the flying mammals. All About Bats, with Bat Squad! Kids will be hosted on Nepris, which connects experts, like the Bat Squad, and industry professionals with teachers in an online community where they can talk with each other through online interactive sessions. Students get to ask questions and learn about STEM topics like All about Bats, or topics on The Arts and more.

"Since there are only two of us at Bat Conservation International that regularly go out to do educational programs for schools, it was very exciting to learn about Nepris!” said Dianne Odegard, BCI’s education and public outreach manager. “We can increase our education outreach exponentially, all without leaving the office."

Already, 15 classrooms are signed up for this virtual session. Many more are expected to join. Teachers with a Nepris account can sign up at the link above or, new teachers can sign up at Nepris.com and get one free session to bring All About Bats to their students.
